Tuesday, August 15, 2023 is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Holy Day of obligation.
We celebrate the special gifts of grace that God gave to the Blessed Virgin Mary, preserving her from the concupiscence of original sin, such that at the end of her life on earth, it would be fitting that she should be assumed in to heaven without tasting the decay of death. Where she has gone by God’s special favor, we hope to follow by living lives fortified in sacramental grace. Catholics take today as an opportunity to worship God who crowns his creation with the glory bestowed on the Blessed Virgin.
Mass Times at St. Anthony of Padua Church are: (Monday Vigil) 4:00 pm, (Tuesday) 7:30 am and 6:30 pm.
